Tommy: “During your short hiatus, you’ve been tearing up the scene here at APW, but how did you spend your time refocusing?”
Bad News Williams: “Where I’m from, the Norf side of Memphis, we don’t just sit ’round waitin’ for shit to happen. Hollywood Ron, Scale-A-Ton, and me, we took ourselves on a lil’ mental retreat. Hit up different feds, got back in touch with the rasslin’ scene, you feel me? It was a chance to clear my head, and really focus on this paff we on you know. We was gone from the efed scene for 4 years. When we came back we came straight to APW and went straight to the top of the card really quick. We had to take a step back, everything was happening so fast. I thought about the days when I was slangin’ that green and that and taking different bumps with the low down dirty Three 6 Mafia. My cousin is actually Crunchy Blac, we go way back. I used to sell weed to the crew and even jumped on a few tracks with ’em. But this retreat? Man, it was ’bout findin’ a new path while stayin’ true to where we come from.”
Tommy: “You and Kashious just won the Stampede World Tag Team Championships… how’s life been on the road with Kash?”
Bad News Williams: “Life on the road with Kash? Manne, it’s been a wild ride mane, We both been through a lot, growin’ up in this game, and now we click like clockwork. Winnin’ them Stampede World Tag Team Championships, it’s like hittin’ the jackpot, ya know? It’s kinda like back in the day when I was livin’ that high life with the Mafia 6, but now it’s ’bout reachin’ new heights in this wrestlin’ world.”
Tommy: “Speaking of that, you guys have great chemistry together, yet at one point it seemed you couldn’t stand one another. What helped change that mentality?”
Bad News Williams: “Yeah, we wasn’t always seein’ eye to eye, but sometimes you gotta have them real talks, know what I’m sayin’? We figured out we had more in common than we thought. Earned that respect, and that’s what built this chemistry y’all see now. Kinda like how I moved from hustlin’ in North Memphis, to bein’ one of the best damn tag partners you could ask for. Sometimes, you gotta go through the mud to find the gold.”
Tommy: “Bad News, you got to take part in the Alpha Chamber Match to help crown an inaugural Lakewood World Champion against yours truly and four other top-tier talents. How did it feel to be a part of that? And is this belt something you want to go for down the road?”
Bad News Williams: “Manne, that Alpha Chamber Match was somethin’ else. Bein’ in the ring with the best, includin’ yourself, that was a real honor. Took me back to when I was just a young’n, watchin’ legends like Jerry Lawler and Flex Kavana at the Mid-South Coliseum. Competing at this level? That’s a dream come true, right there. And as for the Lakewood World Championship? Hell yeah, that’s on my radar, but right now, I’m all ’bout keepin’ these tag titles with Kash.”
Tommy: “We all have our troubled pasts, but you had a rough upbringing in this dog-eat-dog world. What was it that really made you take a step back and go this route here in professional wrestling?”
Bad News Williams: “Man, growin’ up in North Memphis, it was rough, no doubt ’bout it. But it made me who I am today. Wrestling gave me an outlet, a way to channel all that fight into somethin’ positive. It ain’t been easy, but it’s the path that brought me here, and I wouldn’t change it for nothin’. I was a thug, sellin’ weed, rollin’ with the 36 Mafia, but them early days watchin’ Memphis legends like Jerry Lawler showed me there was somethin’ bigger out there. That’s what led me to the ring, and now we here.”
Tommy: “Bad News, I have all the respect in the world for you my man, we have had some hard fought battles in the ring and some real enlightening conversations outside of it…I am glad you are here with us in APW and when the time is right, there is no doubt about it that you will be wearing this strap someday!”
Tommy: “That is all the time we have this morning folks…but stay tuned, as this week has been very busy for the Vamp! We have another interview with Isaac Frost where he sheds some light on his relationship with his brother and various other things, as usual, Stand the test of time and be….IMMORTAL!”
